All Purpose Tradesperson

Summary WorkPac require an all purpose tradesperson for a building and grounds department. Permanent position Day shift hours North Eastern suburbs area What you will be doing: General maintenance of all school buildings, properties and grounds. Minor renovations to school buildings including classrooms, offices, boarding and residential properties. Furniture manufacture, fabrication and repairs of furniture and fittings, minor building and project construction Metal fabrication repairs or new works. Remediate and/or report any repairs and maintenance issues Relieve and assist other members of the Building and Grounds Department Attend departmental meetings. Workplace health & safety Maintain a compliant and safe working environment in accordance with the Work Health & Safety Act and the School's associated policies and procedures Undertake all tasks as per applicable and relevant Safe Work Practices and Safe Operating Procedures relevant to plant and equipment used by Building and Grounds Staff. Report to the Building and Grounds Administrator Follow reasonable instruction given by the school in relation to health and safety. Complete a Risk Assessment prior to undertaking any high-risk activities. Participate in relevant training provided or as appropriate to fulfil all WHS responsibilities. Experience and Knowledge Demonstrated experience working across multiple trades, knowledge and understanding of WHS issues related to a trade, construction, fabrication Outstanding interpersonal skills with the ability to effectively engage and communicate Well-developed problem-solving skills and ability to think creatively and laterally. Organisational skills with the ability to effectively prioritise work Qualifications Relevant trade certificate. OHS Working with Children Check. Reporting Risks of Harm, Abuse and Neglect certificate. Protective Practices training certificate.
