Rio Tinto Operates the world's largest integrated portfolio of iron ore assets. Rio Tinto are expanding operations in the Pilbara to epic proportions while introducing next generation technologies to deliver greater efficiency, lower production costs and improved health, safety, and environmental performance.

About the Role:

WorkPac is currently in search of an Approvals Planner to join our esteemed client's team, based in Perth. This position is Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week for a 6 month duration. The Approvals Planner role is a great opportunity to showcase and develop your stakeholder engagement and project management skills, where your talents will support the Planning and Resource Development teams by submitting and managing all Approval Requests (AR) for future drilling and rehabilitation.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Co-ordinate documentation (including GIS files) required for internal submission of strategic ground access and rehabilitation approvals

  • Collaborate with the Readiness Specialist and technical teams to ensure ground access submissions are fit for project scope

  • Track and manage Resource Development ground access Submissions

  • Submit heritage field survey only requests for medium- and long-term drill plans

  • Coordinate, prioritise and escalate accordingly to ensure requests are included in internal RTIO heritage field survey prioritisation processes

  • Collaborate with state government approvals on tracking and identifying when new clearing mechanisms are required to sustain long term development pathways

  • Track and manage variations to Resource Development drilling scopes as they apply to Approvals Requests.

Skills and Experience:

  • A commitment to the safety of yourself and the team

  • Experience using Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Arc Pro or Arc Map will be highly regarded.

  • Broad understanding of ground disturbance permitting and associated legislation

  • Demonstrated skills in planning or scheduling activities, preferably within a project management environment.

  • Proficient stakeholder engagement skills (i.e. ability to effectively influence, collaborate with and negotiate with a wide range of stakeholders).

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Power Point.

  • Strong Analytical skills.
