About the Client:

Rio Tinto are expanding operations in the Pilbara to epic proportions while introducing next generation technologies to deliver greater efficiency, lower production costs and improved health, safety, and environmental performance.
About the Position:
WorkPac is currently in search of a Principal Dam Engineer to join our esteemed client's team based in the Ranger Mine in the Northern Territory. This position is FIFO from Brisbane, Perth, Darwin or Cairns, 2 weeks on 1 week off for a 12-month duration.
Key Responsibilities:
Liaise with Engineers of Record, Designers, and regulatory teams
Ensure tailings facility closure meets all regulatory and company standards
Identify and implement improvements in dam safety and closure design
Monitor and inspect tailings facilities to ensure performance and integrity
Manage change control and maintain detailed documentation
Build relationships with key stakeholders and report to executives
Skills and Experience Required:
Bachelor's degree in Civil, Geotechnical, or Mining Engineering (Master's or professional registration preferred)
12-15 years' experience in a senior engineering role with expertise in tailings facilities
Deep understanding of GISTM and relevant national/international guidelines
Proficiency in geotechnical analysis and relevant software tools
Strong problem-solving skills and commitment to safety and environmental stewardship
