Mechanical Fitter

Location: Hemmant

Pay Rate: $55/hour with penalties (temp to perm)

Hours: 6am â 2pm (Monday to Friday or 7am â 3pm (Monday to Friday) â client is flexible

This company is a local supplier of steel reinforcing that Australians have trusted for more than 100 years. Offering access to Australia's largest distribution network of branches, from Tasmania to Townsville.

Duties

⢠Work with safe working systems in place for maintenance and service

⢠Execute preventative and predictive maintenance as per schedule

⢠Attend and manage breakdown maintenance as required

⢠Provide technical support to operations team to ensure machine efficiencies are

maintained

⢠Perform troubleshooting and fault-finding activities

⢠Perform mechanical inspections and create action plans to improve reoccurring faults

⢠Regularly update maintenance computer systems for corrective and preventative work

orders

⢠Communicate and coordinate with the Site Manager regarding mechanical updates and

concerns

⢠Ensure a safe working environment through identifying risks and have controls in place

before task is executed

⢠Assist engineering with critical spares management

Requirements

⢠Mechanical Trade or a Fitter and Turner qualification

⢠Strong mechanical aptitude and excellent troubleshooting and fault-finding skills

⢠Knowledge of hydraulics and pneumatics systems but not limited to

⢠Has high regard for a safe workplace and has a customer-centric approach. Must work with

the safety systems in place

⢠Experience or background in steel manufacturing, industrial machines, and or medium to

heavy industrial plants would be an advantage

⢠Tickets and other licences are highly regarded (Forklift, Crane, etc.
