About the Role:
WorkPac are currently seeking a Rehabilitation Planning Specialist to join the Rehabilitation & Closure team. This role is an opportunity to contribute to Rio Tinto's progressive rehabilitation program. The desired candidate will be experienced and technically driven, with an understanding of mining and construction related earthworks. Reporting to the Principle of Rehabilitation Planning & Performance the role operates on a Monday to Friday to roster with ad-hoc travel to the Pilbara.
Key Responsibilities will include:
Plan, Schedule, and design rehabilitation projects for Pilbara operations
Actively seek and identify opportunities for progressive rehabilitation, and contribute across planning horizons and annual planning processes
Engage with internal and external stakeholders and display an ability to negotiate positive outcomes
Develop and sustain working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
Identify risks, and drive opportunities for reduced impact mining and closure liability reduction
Develop and optimise detailed rehabilitation designs and documentation ready for implementation
Support implementation of rehabilitation projects by completing design conformance assessments and reconciliations
Skills & Experience Required:
Relevant tertiary qualifications in engineering, earth science or relevant discipline
Mine planning and scheduling background
Proficient with planning and design
Experience with Vulcan, CAD and planning software
Exposure to GIS software
a Valid 'C' Class Drivers Licence
