About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Trade Assistantto join the team for the Snowy Hydro Project based in Tumbarumba. This role involves working hands-on with mechanical installations, repairs, and general labouring duties in both workshop and site environments, with a focus on safety and teamwork.
You will assist with tasks such as installing Earthgrid and conduit, backfilling trenches, and structural steel installation. Additionally, you'll be performing general labouring duties and assisting tradespeople. The role requires flexibility to work within Work at Heights (WAH) and Confined Space (CS) environments. Experience with excavators, bobcats, telehandlers, and rigging is beneficial but not essential.
What you will be doing:
Assisting tradespeople with mechanical installations, repairs, and maintenance
Operating tools and equipment under supervision
Installing Earthgrid, conduit, and backfilling trenches
Structural steel installation and general labouring
Loading and unloading materials and equipment
Supporting operators with safety procedures and spotting as required
Working within WAH and CS environments, following strict safety protocols
Maintaining tools and equipment
What you need:
Mechanical experience is essential
Previous experience working in WAH and CS environments (preferred)
Certifications in Work at Heights, Confined Space, and as a spotter (preferred)
Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
Ability to work in a team and independently
Forklift license or other relevant certifications (preferred)
Current driver's license
Right to work documents
