About the Role:

WorkPac on behalf of our leading client are currently seeking a Workshop Supervisor to join our dynamic team. This role is critical in our manufacturing workshop where you will oversee project-based production of custom one-off and small batch run automotive wiring systems, ensuring that each unique order is handled with precision and care. In this fast-paced, hands-on role, you will manage competing priorities and continuously adjust short-term production plans to ensure our team meets and exceeds customer expectations. This is a key leadership position with minimal admin work, concentrating on active involvement in our workshop and focusing on our people, safety, efficiency, and quality in a specialised production setting.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee job planning and timeframes, resource allocation and workflow management to ensure on-time delivery of custom, high-quality finished products

  • Lead and supervise the production team, providing day-to-day guidance and feedback

  • Collaborate closely with other teams to understand customer expectations and ensure seamless service delivery

  • Identify training needs and provide or request further training for technical staff

  • Apply Lean and Continuous Improvement practices to drive positive change and enhance efficiency

  • Maintain high safety and quality standards within the workshop environment

Key Requirements:

  • Experience in a job-based manufacturing, fabrication or workshop environment

  • Trade qualification in an automotive, mechanical or industrial field (desirable)

  • Strategic thinking and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively

  • Excellent people management abilities with a focus on guiding technical employees

  • Strong leadership and communication skills

  • Knowledge or willingness to learn about Lean Manufacturing principles and Continuous Improvement
