About the Role:
WorkPac on behalf of our leading client are currently seeking a Workshop Supervisor to join our dynamic team. This role is critical in our manufacturing workshop where you will oversee project-based production of custom one-off and small batch run automotive wiring systems, ensuring that each unique order is handled with precision and care. In this fast-paced, hands-on role, you will manage competing priorities and continuously adjust short-term production plans to ensure our team meets and exceeds customer expectations. This is a key leadership position with minimal admin work, concentrating on active involvement in our workshop and focusing on our people, safety, efficiency, and quality in a specialised production setting.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee job planning and timeframes, resource allocation and workflow management to ensure on-time delivery of custom, high-quality finished products
Lead and supervise the production team, providing day-to-day guidance and feedback
Collaborate closely with other teams to understand customer expectations and ensure seamless service delivery
Identify training needs and provide or request further training for technical staff
Apply Lean and Continuous Improvement practices to drive positive change and enhance efficiency
Maintain high safety and quality standards within the workshop environment
Key Requirements:
Experience in a job-based manufacturing, fabrication or workshop environment
Trade qualification in an automotive, mechanical or industrial field (desirable)
Strategic thinking and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
Excellent people management abilities with a focus on guiding technical employees
Strong leadership and communication skills
Knowledge or willingness to learn about Lean Manufacturing principles and Continuous Improvement
